Bio
Greg grew up in Irvine attending Irvine High School where earned all CIF honors in Volleyball and All League honors in Basketball. He earned a Bachelors in Business Administration at the University of the Pacific while helping the volleyball program to the NCAA Division I playoffs in the 4th year of the program. Greg led the country in kills per game earning All-American Honors and eventually being inducted to the University of the Pacific Hall of Fame. During his time in Stockton, Greg coached the Amos Alonzo Stagg Girls Varsity Volleyball team.
After a brief tryout with the US national team, he went to play professionally in Europe. Greg played a season in Switzerland and then a season in Holland where he met his current wife Laura - the classic European love story ensued. Greg followed Laura to Michigan where she coached the Michigan State Women’s Volleyball team and Greg coached the East Lansing Girls Varsity Volleyball team - league championship. They married in 2000 and then moved back to Southern California in 2001.
At this point Greg’s volleyball career paused to start a sales career in real estate and grow a family. 24 years later, Greg and Laura live in Tustin with their 4 children Jack, Tommy, Will and Louise, and 2 dogs Lexi and Snoopy. In August of 2023, the play button on Greg’s volleyball career was pressed helping the Westcliff Women’s Indoor team to the CalPac playoffs and then winning the Cal Pac conference with the Westcliff Women’s Beach Team.
Greg enjoys the wide array of personalities on the team, experiencing first hand player & team development, and loves team meals. He can often be overheard saying “Are you going to finish that?!”
When not coaching Greg helps clients with selling and renting homes throughout California as well as CrossFit, basketball, skiing, dog walking, BBQ, and gardening.
