Warriors on a 2 Match Win Streak with a Sweep over the Golden Eagles

Westcliff Warriors opened up their Blue and Gold game against the La Sierra Golden Eagles. Both teams entered the match trying to get the much needed points entering the 2nd half of the conference season.

What Happened?

Westcliff and La Sierra both battled in the 1st set with both teams getting leads and comebacks throughout the whole set.

It all came down to a total of 7 set point opportunities. Warriors from a dominant kill from #7 Brooke Scheidle ended the 1st set 30-28.

2nd Set was entirely different with the Warriors coming off of an impressive 6-0 start. This set was all Westcliff.

La Sierra chipped the lead to 13-11 from there Warriors held all the control and cruised to a 25-14 set win.

3rd Set both teams were exchanging points with 4 ties to start the set. Westcliff kept on getting a couple rallies going to extend their lead.

Samantha Lister in the middle had 2 service aces that helped change the momentum of the match. Westcliff grabbed the 3rd set and the 3-0 sweep against La Sierra.

Top Performers

Brooke Scheidle had a very impressive match going for 12 Kills with 0 Errors and a 63% Hitting percentage (Career High)  along with 7 Digs and 2 Total Blocks.

Faith Webb also had a fantastic game with 11 Kills her first double kill match of the season.

Michelle Do held it down with 25 Assists. 

Samantha Lister was amazing to watch at serving as Lister earned 4 Service Aces (Career High) along with 9 Kills and 15 Assists.

Abbey Beckwith strong middle grabbed 8 Kills with 2 Solo Blocks.

Ava Himstreet was all over the back line hitting every dig opportunity to keep the rally alive for the Warriors. Himstreet grabbed 15 Digs and even a Kill off of a dig.

Why is this Important?

Westcliff are still in the Playoff hunt currently in the #6 spot with a 4-5 record. A lot more volleyball action to come in the 2nd half of the conference season.

Westcliff will be back on saturday to take on USK. First Serve at 1:00pm.
