Warriors Road Trip Success Continues
What Happened? Everything seems to be clicking at the right time for the Westcliff women's volleyball team as they gathered another important win. On Friday, they faced off against Simpson in Redding where they cruised to a straight sets win to put them at the top of the conference by one game.
The first set started off very competitive with each team going on mini runs, but no one could pull ahead. Towards the later stage of the set is when the Warriors clamped down and gave Simpson no chance to come back. The Warriors caught fire as they won 13 out of 14 points to close the set comfortably, 25-17. Leonor Chambel delivered the final kill with an assist from Mia Scheepens.
The Warriors started the second set slow and fell behind by losing the first four points, but it didn't take long for the intensity to pick up. Elise Brown really made an impact in the second set with five kills that were all important because Simpson was not backing down. Again, the team made a strong push toward the end of the set by winning the last three points. Warriors won the second set 25-20.
The third set started slow for the Warriors again, but would not stop them from building off the previous two sets. Brown had another four kills which combined with a great overall team performance helped finish the match in a straight sets win. The third set was won 25-20.

Coaches' Notes
Head Coach Kenny Ma
"Today was one of the best matches that our team has had in recent weeks. By no means was the game perfect, but the hunger to compete as a team, the ability to quickly make adjustments, and the ability to establish all of our weapons made it a great game to be a part of. It was a great huge win for the team especially starting the game from behind in the first set to completely taking over the match."
"To end the road trip with another win, will require a lot of focus and passion. We need to respect the opponent we are facing and play with purpose. We hope that we can give other athletes some minutes on the court but it will require everyone to step up from the very beginning."
What's Next? Westcliff will look to end the road trip with a clean sweep as they visit Pacific Union on Saturday. The match will start at 7:30 pm.
