Warriors Cruise After Opening with Big Lead
Westcliff women's basketball team was looking to get back on track after losing their previous two games.
On Thursday evening, they hosted Cal Maritime as they entered the regular season's last stretch.
The Warriors were in control of the game from start to finish as they cruised to a 95-43 win against the Keelhaulers.
The Warriors got off to a strong start as they scored the first 10 points of the game and never looked back.
Everything was clicking for the Warriors as they made sure to not give the Keelhaulers any chance at a comeback.
At the end of the first quarter, Westcliff had a commanding lead of 22-6.
They kept building on that lead as they went into the locker room leading by 31 points, 46-15.
At one point Westcliff was leading by 58 points making it a season-high.
The Warriors had help from everyone, in a complete game from the starters to and bench.
Every player that was available to play got minutes on the court and five scored in double digits.
Westcliff shot the ball well making 57.7% from the field and 50% of their three-point shots.
They had 25 assists and 19 steals which are both season highs.
With the win, the Warriors have an overall record of (13-8) and a conference record of (10-5).
Currently, they are sitting in the fourth spot in the conference as they look to make a final push to reach the second seed.
Up next, they will host Pacific Union on Saturday, Feb. 11.
The tip-off will be at 8:30 PM.
