The Westcliff softball ream broke even with Arizona Christian on Valentine's Day in the desert, collecting a 4-2 win in Game 1, and dropping Game 2, 8-5.
Madison Mendez got the win in Game 1, throwing five innings of one-run ball with a strikeout.
Gianna Carrion collected a two-inning save, allowing one run on no hits and sending one down by way of strikes.
Iyari Ramirez had a double and an RBI, and Siana San Vicente collected the big knock, a single through the hole on the left side that plated both Airilin Ramirez and Lauren Coppla in the fifth.
Game 2 got away from the Warriors early, as ACU raced out to an 8-0 lead by the third.
Refusing to go away quietly, the Dubs mounted a comeback, but it wouldn't be enough.
Rachel Varela had a monster game, collecting four knocks on four tries and scoring a pair.
Alyssa Patlan, meanwhile, went 2-for-3 with a pair scored and another batted in.
Jessalyn Villicana was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Airilin Ramirez and Alyssa Vigil both had RBIs.
After the split, the Warriors record evened up at 3-3.
Up next, Grace University comes calling.
The Wednesday double-header is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at the Great Park.
On Friday, the Warriors host No. 17 Hope for a pair.
First pitch Friday is 4 p.m. as well.
