On Friday afternoon, the Westcliff softball team started their conference schedule with dominant victories over La Sierra University.
The Warriors were able to keep La Sierra scoreless in the doubleheader and took Game 1 7-0, and Game 2 6-0.
In Game 1, Westcliff scored five runs in the first inning and quickly took control of the momentum and controlled the game from that moment moving forward.
Star pitcher Emily Rosas was on fire from the mound pitching all seven innings and recorded eight strikeouts while only allowing one hit.
Rosas has been consistently good this season and earned Cal Pac Pitcher of the Week for the previous week.
She threw 83 pitches in the game with 62 counting as strikes.
Airilin Ramirez and Lauren Coppla each went (2-for-4).
Celeste Huffman was (2-for-3) with 2 RBIs.
The Warriors were able to connect with 11 hits compared to one from LSU.
In Game 2, WU took control of the game in the first inning again.

Afterward, Brittney Slocum flew out to center field which brought in the runner at third for the second run.
The Warriors put the game away in the bottom of the sixth with four runs, increasing their lead to 6-0.
Rosas pitched the entire second game as well and this time she recorded nine strikeouts with only three hits.
With the pair of wins, the Warriors record improved to (8-10, Cal Pac 2-0).
They will have another go at La Sierra on Sunday for the second doubleheader of the four-game series.
