Westcliff's softball team took the trip to the University of Saint Katherine on Saturday to begin their four-game series.
The Warriors were in no mood to play around and took care of business winning the first doubleheader, 3-2 and 8-0.
The Warriors have been focused and playing better as the season progresses having won eight of their last 10 games.
The first game was a low-scoring affair but Westcliff was able to get the runs needed to stay on top.
The first two runs were scored in the top of the third by Westcliff after a single to left center by Kassandra Ramos brought in Olivia Pino to score.
Diamond Lewis singled to left field allowing Haley Garcia to get the second run in.
The Firebirds responded back and got a run back at the bottom of the third.
Both teams scored in the seventh inning which still kept the Warriors up by one as they finished 3-2.
This time Lewis singled to right field which drove Garcia home to score the third run.
On the mound Hendriks had a good showing pitching five innings before Etta Van Burgsteden subbed in to pitch the last two innings.
Westcliff got off to a quick start in the second game as they scored a run in the first inning after Airilin Ramirez stole home.
The Warriors were able to get runs up in every inning leading up to the top of the fifth which saw them go up 8-0.
USK wasn't able to get a run in after five so the mercy rule took into effect giving the Warriors an early second wn to the day.
Pitching for the Warriors, Sierra Danna had a solid game making quick work in just five innings.
Danna had only one hit and recorded five strikeouts.
Head Coach Vanessa Kellems was pleased with the team's performance: "Team played solid today. Did well squaring up on the ball and getting runners on.
"We spoke with them about making small adjustments to switch it up in the second game. Pitchers did a great job in the circle focusing on the little things from this week."
The Warriors will get on the field on Sunday for another doubleheader to finish the series against USK.
The first pitch will be thrown starting at 3:00 PM.
