Westcliff Survive and Advance

Westcliff opened up the 2022 Cal Pac Softball Tournament against Marymount. Game 1 saw the Warriors drop the game 9-1. Westcliff then faced against La Sierra, lose and go home. We asked Head Coach Kellems after Game 1 what Westcliff needs to do for their match against La Sierra. "Going into this next game knowing it's a win to stay in the tournament we are focus on being in the now each play and each inning. We're taking a break between games to rest and rest mentally. Our previous game we had nervous and mentally slipped, we are preparing for our game with LSU by focusing ourselves, focusing on our fundamentals, and grouping as a team to come out strong again."
Westcliff in the last game of Day 1 in the Tournament were down 5-2 in the bottom of the 6th. Alyssa Vigil started it off with a lead off single to 1st Base. Diana Hughes and Lauren Coppla followed with singles of their own to load the bases. Natalie Ziegler sent home the first run of many. Clippinger walked that sent another runner home. Moreno, Tokunaga and Ramos added more single hits to the at bat. Westcliff recorded 7 Hits which led to 8 Runs that proved fatal to the Golden Eagles. Westcliff survive and advance to the next round against Simpson Redhawks

"The energy level was amazing! We never gave up and everyone stepped up and contributed in their own way! At the start of the six and then we told the girls to keep battling and we're making progress we're getting runners in scoring position we just got to keep pushing to get that one run across to get the moment going.
