UC Merced might be tired of hosting the Warriors at Gallo these days, as the Westcliff men's volleyball became the latest outfit from Irvine to spoil the party for the Bobcats, this time with a 3-1 victory Thursday (19-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-21).
The usual suspects were up to their old tricks.
Rodolfo Biegelmeyer (11 kills) and Gabriel Pizza (nine) led the attack.
Pawel Tuz did his thing, setting up 26 teammates on assists, and Nikos Kalagasidis chimed in with seven more.
On the defensive end, Sebastian Ignaczak was special, collecting 12 digs. Pizza had nine and Biegelmeyer had six, as did Tuz.
At net, both Connor McCann and M'hamid Mifdal turned in five blocks.
The No. 12 Warriors (10-4, 2-0) travel to Simpson today for a 6 p.m. start.
