Warriors fight against #1 Mustangs

Warriors traveled up to take on #1 The Master's.

Match was going to be a tough battle with a very experienced mustang side.

Westcliff went down 2 sets. The third set showed that the Warriors can compete with the best in the nation.

Warriors take the 3rd with some hi power Kills from Gabriel Pizza and Ilias Lazaar. Mustangs were able to respond in the 4th to capture the win.

Match Recap:

Westcliff were able to limit a lot of their hitting errors in every set so far this season. Defensivley Warriors collected 41 Digs and 9 Total Blocks. Warriors led the Mustangs in this category. 

Offensively Warriors collected 37 Kills and 33 Assists.

Standout Performances from Gabriel Pizza recorded 16 Kills on a .308 hitting percentage. Pizza continues his 6 match streak of 10+ Kills along with matching his season high of 16.

Ilias Lazaar was able to capture 9 Kills with 9 Digs. Pawel Tuz was able to take 27 Assists with 2 Kills, 6 Digs and 2 Total Blocks.

Lisati Viala 3 Kills with 0 Errors along with 3 Total Blocks. 

Coaches Notes

"Last night showed great perspective of what we need to improve at to best the #1 seed. We will continue to straightening out the little things.

All the details also gives us hope that we can hang at the top level and compete. We are there when it comes to winning a national championship.

Warriors open up conference play next Friday against Saint Katherine match starts at 6:00pm.
