WU Reach Five-Game Win Streak With Clean Sheet

The Westcliff men's soccer team has been a thrill to watch this season.
 
On Sunday they traveled to La Sierra in Riverside and left with another win and a clean sheet in the books with a score of 3-0.
 
This is the eighth game that the Warriors have won and not allowed a single goal against them which has blown away any other season's results.
 
The Warriors have taken command of the 2023 Cal Pac season and if they continue with their consistency, there will be a lot to celebrate towards the end.
 
But let's not get too ahead of ourselves.
 
Westcliff struck quickly in the second minute of playing time as scoring leader Quentin Hornung added another to his tally after a pass from John Adekunle.
 
Hornung is the Cal Pac leader in goals scored with 12 at the moment.
 
But his teammate and the scorer of the game's second goal Wissem Obeid is right behind him, hunting for that top spot. 
 
Obeid scored in the 53rd minute after another precision pass from Adekunle.
 
Obeid has 11 goals for the season and will battle it out with Hornung in the last stretch of the season with four games remaining.
 
In the 81st minute, Martin Slatsve who came off the bench joined the scoring party with another assist by none other than Adekunle.
 
Now the assists leader for the season has gotten interesting as well.
 
Before this match, the Warriors' Jordan Di Lonardo had a firm grasp at the top spot but if he looks back he will notice a couple of Warrior teammates getting close.
 
Di Lonardo is at first place with 12 assists but right behind him is Adekunle with 11 and behind him is Hornung with eight.
 
Westcliff dominated the box score stats taking 11 shots to La Sierra's two.
 
Goalkeeper Noah Schwengeler was put to the test twice and was on top of it to help keep the clean sheet alive once more.
 
The Warriors will get a couple of days before their next match against Soka University. 
 
This will be a crucial game for them because Soka has had a solid season thus far.
 
It will be a good test for the team against a good Soka soccer team.
 
The game will take place on Saturday, October 7th, with a start time of 4PM.
