Men’s Soccer: Playoffs in Sight with Five to Play

The Westcliff men's soccer team took care of business Saturday in Vallejo, beating the winless Keelhaulers of Cal Maritime, 7-1. 

With the win, Westcliff (5-1-1) now holds the second-place spot in the Cal Pac standings thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker with Simpson.

Rui Tsubakihara collected a second-half hat trick with assists from Felix Kogler and Kerem Genc

Lucas Rosell broke a scoreless tie in the 19th, and Janis Hinterleitner made it 2-0 in the 53rd. 

Kyungho Song scored, and Westcliff was credited with a team goal. 

Genc had a pair of assists.

Noah Schwengeler collected the win on a pair of saves. 

Nathan Witte stopped 13 Westcliff shots-on-goal. 

The Warriors have five remaining contests, including an Oct. 22 meeting with first-place Embry-Riddle. 

The Warriors travel to Soka Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff.
