A total of nine cards were handed out Thursday in Angwin, where the Westcliff men's soccer team handed Pacific Union a 3-2 loss.

Jussi Gerbering, Marius Brondbo, Felix Kogler, Jason McCormick and Lukas Lougon were all booked, and Brondbo will miss action Saturday at Cal Maritime after picking up a red in the 81st minute.

Three Pioneers were carded as well, as the conditions on the pitch led to plenty of physical play.

"Difficult conditions, but the team adapted well," Westcliff head coach Tom Lancaster said. "Disappointed to give up a soft goal early in the second half."

At that point, the Warriors were up 2-0 on first-half goals from Kogler and Gerbering (McCormick).

Janis Hinterleitner made it 3-1 in the 62nd minute.

"Lukas Lougon was a true leader at the back," Lancaster said.

Noah Schwengeler picked up the win on two saves.

Jacob Hendricks had three saves for the Pioneers.

The Warriors (5-4-2, 4-1-1) kick off with Maritime in Vallejo at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
