Although Pacific Union is not in its pod, the Westcliff men's soccer team picked up yet another California Pacific Conference win Friday morning at the Great Park, 7-3.

Quentin Hornung had a modest season's worth of production, scoring five goals – four before halftime.

"Technically incredible player," Westcliff head coach Tom Lancaster said. "He reads the game well as well. He will exploit other teams. He will spot areas where he can get on the board and score goals.

"Obviously, he was very effective today."

Hornung scored in the first, 14th, 21st and 29th minutes in the first half, wrapping up the hat trick with 60 minutes left in the contest.

Janis Hinterleitner, Nick Frost, John Adekunle and Jakob Schnitzler (2) all picked up assists on Hornung's scoring outburst.

Both Hornung and Karam Idris helped on the other two scores, a pair of John Adekunle finishes, in the second and 51st minutes.

"We played some really good attacking football, which is what we like to do," Lancaster said. "We scored seven goals, and we're happy with that."

On the defensive end, Francesco Zanin picked up three saves, and stopper Nikita Pyatetskiy was solid on the backend. He was the only Warrior to play the entire game.

Westcliff outshot Pacific Union 29-13.

No time to rest, the Warriors face two more opponents in the next four days.

Sunday, Westcliff hosts Cal Maritime at Championship Stadium at the Great Park.

Tuesday, the Warriors travel to Saint Katherine.
