Warriors Battle Against Moorpark

Warriors Battle Against Moorpark
The Westcliff men's lacrosse team lost their first game of the season against Moorpark College, with a score of 11-9.

Despite not achieving their desired outcome, the Warriors will use this loss as an opportunity to identify areas for improvement.

Head Coach Mike Song shared that everyone including the coaching staff will learn from this game and get better.

"We all took part in this loss, including myself as head coach," Song said. "The biggest area we will focus on this week is the overall concept of winning. We are excited about the opportunity to build and grow as a program."

This was the only non-conference matchup for the Warriors who will shift their focus and prepare for conference opponents, starting with Arizona Christian this Friday.

Westcliff is now part of the MCLA and is a member of the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference.

The Warriors' season is comprised of eight conference matches against some very well-known schools in the area including UCI, CSUF, and San Jose State.

The Warriors' first home opener will be against Claremont College on Saturday, March 2nd, with a start time of 1:00 p.m.

All home games will be played at Portola High School's sports stadium located in Irvine, California.

After Saturday's game, Song had a simple message for his team: "We have to get our minds right and focused for the rest of this season."
