Duff Sets New Rebounding Record in WU Win
John Duff has been a rebounding machine this season as he's averaged 10.5 rebounds a game.
On Thursday, that skill was in full display as Duff went on to set a new Westcliff record for rebounds in a game at 21.
Most importantly, the Warriors followed it up with a win over Simpson University 69-54 and improved to (16-8, Cal Pac 14-5)
Duff towered over every player from the opponent as he would just engulf the rebounds every single time. He fell one point short of achieving a double-double, a feat he has accomplished consistently throughout the season.
With the win, the Warriors extended their current winnings streak to three and will look to finish at four during their senior night on Saturday.
The Warriors are in a battle with UC Merced over which team will secure the No. 2 seed in the conference and after Thursday's results, they remain tied at 14-5.
In general, Westcliff shot the ball well at 45% from the field. One of the few areas that were subpar was the three-point shooting as they went 3-for-17.
Korey Hess and Lorenzo Marsh provided a spark off the bench as they scored 10 and 11 points respectively.
Even though the Warriors have secured a postseason spot, a win on Saturday could be crucial with regards to who they match up with.
The positive is that they'll have finished the second half season as one of the hottest teams, winning 11 of their last 12 games.
Saturday's game is set to start at 2 p.m. at the Jordan Lawley Facility in Irvine.
In their first meeting against UC Merced, the Warriors were able to narrowly get the win by two points.
