WU Wins Second Half But Falls Short to USD
The Westcliff men's basketball team was looking to end the year on a high note as they took on a formidable opponent in the Division 1 University of San Diego.
The Warriors fell short in the first half but made up for it with a strong second half in an eventual 13-point loss, 78-65.
Westcliff dug themselves an early deficit as USD scored the first eight points of the ball game.
But the Warriors fought back and scored five points, including a three-pointer from Jamal Briscoe.
Later in the first half, Westcliff was able to even up the score 15-15 after Korey Hess scored from beyond the arc. USD responded with an 11-0 run that would break open the game as the first half ended.
The Warriors found themselves down 42-27.
But they would go toe-to-toe with the D1 team in the second half winning it 38-36.
Although Westcliff lost, there is a lot that the team will be able to take away from this game as the remaining of their schedule will be against conference opponents.

John Duff followed that with 12 points and eight rebounds while shooting 55% from the field.
Justin Boateng scored 11 points and Micaiah Hankins dished out a game-high seven assists.
Westcliff has an overall record of (3-6) and a Cal Pac record of (2-2).
They are currently sitting in the seventh spot in the conference with the bulk of their schedule against conference opponents set to begin later this week.
