Five in a Row, as the Warriors Eye the Postseason
By Francisco Claudio
That's five in a row!
Westcliff men's basketball is on a streak right now and it couldn't happen at a better time for them.
On Thursday they took on Embry-Riddle and came out on top with a final score of 71-55.
It wasn't until the second half that Westcliff began to pull away from the Eagles as they started on a 6-1 run.
After this they built some momentum and started to get consecutive defensive stops, putting a halt to the Eagles.
The Warriors won the second half 38-25 to finish off another solid game from everyone.
Marius Ntwari had himself a fantastic game with a season-high 19 points, five rebounds, and one block.
Gary Harris had a solid performance with 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Harris was huge on the defensive end with a relentless energy that stopped the Eagles on multiple possessions.
Harris ended the night with five steals.
With the win the Warriors find themselves in the fourth spot in the conference with an overall record (13-8) and a conference record (12-6).
They still have a chance to move up the standings with two games left to play in the regular season and UC Merced just one win ahead of them.
Up next, Westcliff will host Park University Gilbert on Friday Feb. 17.
Tip-off will be at 5:30 PM.
