Warriors Split DH Against Park
Westcliff's baseball team split their doubleheader against the Park-Gilbert University Buccaneers last Friday.
 
Game 1 went the Warrior way as they took the game 9-4.
 
Micah Wallette helped the team score the first run when he singled to right field which brought in Caleb Castanchoa to score the first run.
 
Catcher Kolby Wagatsuma followed that up with a double down the left line, bringing in 3 RBIs to put the Warriors up 4-0.
 
Westcliff scored a run in the fourth inning and four more in the bottom of the fifth.
 
Eddie Rivero, Jacob Taylor, and Wallette went (2-for-4) each.
 
Starting pitcher Eddie Rios went for five innings with five strikeouts and six hits.
 
In Game 2, the Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the third and fifth innings.
 
Ian Avalos went (3-for-5), Taylor (2-for-5), Wallette (2-for-5), and Ryan Naranjo (2-for-4).
 
With the split, Westcliff's record moved to (6-12, Cal Pac 1-4).
 
The series' third game was postponed due to weather conditions and will be played on a different day.
 
For now, the Warriors will get one nonconference game against the Masters that will take place on Tuesday, March 5th, with a start time of 2:00 P.M.
 
The next series will be against La Sierra and that will be on the 8th and 10th of March.
 
The next home game will be on March 16th as the Warriors will play the Master's.
