Coaches' Notes:

"I'm extremely proud of the performance my swimmers put on at this meet, as it was not originally on our schedule and was sprung on them with less than 48 hours notice. We had one of our most heavy loaded weeks of practice yet in our season and they were all really feeling the affects of that but nonetheless pushed through and showed some of the best efforts of the season. They showed strength and will in the face of adversity and that's all a coach can ever ask of their athletes in this type of situation.

Almost everyone got season bests at this meet. Giuliana Galetto in the 100 and 200 back, Robin Pettersson in the 50 and 100 Free, Jake Ison in the 50 and his 100 split leading off the men's 400 Free relay was a 51.21 which is a season best for him. Sydney Hoover in the 500 and her very first time ever swimming the 1650 did an outstanding job. We set a goal for each race for her 100 pace and she did a fantastic job of sticking to that pace to carry out the long races. Those long races are won at the end and it can be very easy to get caught up in the race feel of it in the beginning. It's important to reign that in and stick to your plan and she hit the nail on the head. It was exciting to watch!

I'm also very proud of Cardin Chavez for coming in so late in the season and performing extremely well after just a few days back in the pool. Daniel White stepped up big coming in late as well and helping to finish out the men's relays. We were able to compete in mens relays for the first time in Westcliff history! The men's team took first over Simpson's men which was very impressive.

Im super happy with the results and can't wait for next weekend at Soka!" - Head Coach Raney Remme

What's Next? Westcliff will be travelling across county to go up against Soka University in a Dual Meet next saturday.
