Coaches' Notes against La Sierra and Providence Christian
La Sierra: Player of the Match Samantha Carelock.
"Samm and Faith carried us to a deuce set in Set 1. As they made adjustments Samm maintained her high performance of more than 5 kills per set. There was a lot of energy and fight until point 12 of set 2. Suddenly, we hit a wall and could not build back up. The fight was still there but that connection with each other and flow to the game just disappeared. La Sierra attacked the last few feet of the court really well. We continue to make many errors. That disrupts an offensive rhythm quite a bit. About 13 errors per set compared to 8 errors per set is a large margin to overcome."
PCC: Player of the Match Sam Swanson.
"Sam has a mental focus and attention that carried in the serving skill of the game. The confines provide a difficult place to avoid disruptions toward mental prep. Sustainability all the way to 25 is a talking point for this match. Regardless of external influences, we will continue to focus on a positive mindset all the way through each set toward the culmination of a match. Providence was exceptional excellent attacking the zone 10' x 10' right in the middle of the 30' x 30'
Sam Swanson, "Good battle, improvement is still trending upward."
Westcliff Women's Volleyball host a trio of home matches this week against Simpson, Pacific Union and UC Merced.
