Westcliff Warriors Volleyball hosted their home opener against Arizona Christian at the Jordan Lawley Facility.
The match saw the Firestorm break away in the 1st set. Warriors fall to the Firestorm 3-0; 11-25, 13-25, 13-25.
Warriors had a few standout performances on the court. Samantha Carelock was a fire hitter on the right side. She continued with her back to back Cal Pac Attacker of the Week with a 14 Kill match against ACU.
Amanda Ferreira was also a important in our setting position in the 2nd and 3rd set. Ferreira finished with 14 Assists along with 2 Kills and 1 Service Ace.
Monique Fonoti was also a silent contributor in the back line finding the spot to grab important digs.
Coaches Notes
"Samm became more assertive at the net with her hitting. The last two sets she put away 12 attacks compared to 2 in the 1st set. Monique Fonoti found herself in the right place to make a dig which shows a great sense of reading opponents."
" We fought the entire match there was no quit. The team is really trying to do a lot and make great plays. Finding consistency and routine should minimize our errors." - Coach Cole
Warriors will be back on Tuesday to take on The Master's University at Santa Clarita at 6:00pm.
