Second Quarter Woes Hurt the Warriors Vs Biola

The Westcliff women's basketball team continues to search for ways to gather wins in the early stages of the season.
On Saturday the Warriors took the short trip over to play against the Biola University Eagles.
For a third game in a row, the Warriors struggled in the second quarter which would hurt them in the loss, 51-42.
The teams started by trading baskets in the first quarter when Janelle Ramos hit a three-pointer to put Westcliff up 13-9.
They weren't able to extend the lead as the first quarter concluded with Westcliff up 13-11.
But the Warriors struggled in the second quarter as they only scored eight points while shooting 27% from the field and 25% from three.
This allowed the Eagles to take the lead throughout the quarter and headed into the half-time break up 24-21.
The third quarter was a struggle for the visiting Warriors who only scored seven points while shooting 27% again.
Westcliff tried to claw back in the fourth quarter but to no avail, as they lost their third straight.
Jalen Long scored a game-high 13 points but struggled with her shot making 4-15 from the field and 3-12 from three-point distance.
Valisa Millhouse followed with 11 points and was more efficient shooting 4-7 from the field.
The Warriors have done a better job at taking care of the ball but our in a shooting slump.
The team shot 31% from the field and 27% from behind the arc.
Up next, Westcliff will try to shake off these last three games as they take on a formidable foe in San Diego State.
The game will take place on Tuesday, November 21st, with a start time of 6:00 PM.
